Off-duty NYPD detective accused of child sexual abuse: cops


An off-duty NYPD detective allegedly sexually abused two kids and filmed one of the young girls undressing in her room, according to authorities.

Franco Johnson, 42, was arrested Thursday morning in the Bronx and was slapped with five felony and seven misdemeanor counts in connection to the alleged crimes, including sexual abuse, unlawful surveillance and acting in a manner injurious to a child, cops said.

According to the criminal complaint, Johnson sexually assaulted the a 12-year-old girl inside a Bronx apartment numerous times over a three month span from June to September last year.

Johnson allegedly assaulted another 14-year-old girl last month and set up an iPhone to record her after her shower, the complaint says.

The case stemmed from an NYPD Internal Affairs investigation.

Johnson appeared in court Thursday and posted bail, which was set at $75,000, court and jail records show.

Johnson could not be reached for comment.
